The licensed local team behind Plumbers In Manly
Who we are

The people behind
every Manly job

Plumbers In Manly is the local face of a licensed plumbing team that works the northern beaches. Everything here is decided by two things that do not apply five kilometres inland: salt in the air, and sand in the ground.

A licensed plumber for Manly, not a call centre.

When you call, you reach someone who does this work rather than an operator taking a message for whoever is free. That means no lead-swapping to the cheapest available van, no mystery invoices, and no vague promise that somebody will be out eventually.

Every job carries our NSW licence number, full insurance, and a fixed price you approve before anyone starts. If the honest answer is that the work can wait until business hours and save you the after-hours rate, that is what you will be told.

Licensed, insured & accountable.

Licensed & registered

We hold NSW Plumbing Licence 368473C and work to the Australian Standards on every job, gas and water alike. Unlicensed plumbing is illegal in NSW and voids your home insurance, so ask any plumber for their number before they start. Ours is on every quote.

Insured & to standard

Fully insured for public liability and workmanship, and a member of the Master Plumbers Association NSW. Every repair is done to code and backed by a lifetime workmanship warranty in writing.

Publicly reviewed

The Google reviews on this site belong to Dr Leak Plumbing, our sister plumbing brand. Same owners, same licensed crews, same vans. We would rather point you at real reviews under another name than invent new ones under this one.

Built by a plumber, run like it.

The business was founded in 2020 by a licensed plumber who had already spent more than a decade on Sydney jobs. What started as one van has grown into a team, and the standard has not moved: turn up when you say, quote before you start, and leave the site the way you found it.

Out here that means being straight about what this environment does. A hot water unit on an exposed wall by the beach will not last what the brochure claims, and saying so before someone buys is worth more than selling them the same unit twice.

“If I wouldn't be happy with the fix in my own home, it's not finished. That's the whole job.”

The plumbing we see across Manly.

Two features of this peninsula decide most of what we do, and neither of them appears on a generic plumbing site: the air is corrosive, and the ground is sand.

1
Coastal metal corrodes far faster

Metal in a coastal environment corrodes roughly five to ten times faster than the same metal inland. Chloride strips the thin protective oxide layer that normally forms on copper, steel and galvanised iron, so corrosion continues instead of self-limiting.

2
Which wall the unit is on matters

An identical hot water system on an exposed seaward wall and on a sheltered southern side will not last the same time. Position is genuinely part of the diagnosis here, and almost nobody asks about it before quoting a replacement.

3
Pinholes, not bursts

Coastal corrosion perforates rather than ruptures. The failure seeps quietly for weeks inside a wall or under a floor, so the tells are a returning stain, rust marks around fittings, or a bill drifting up, rather than water on the floor.

4
Salt reaches inside the house

It travels on the air through open windows, vents and roof spaces, settles in cavities and under floors, then holds moisture against whatever is there. We find corroded pipework well away from any sea-facing wall.

5
Sand does not dissolve

It comes off feet, towels, wetsuits and boards into outdoor showers and laundry tubs, and washes into stormwater pits off paths. Nothing breaks it down, so it settles at the first low point and builds until the line stops.

6
Trenching in sand needs shoring

Sand will not hold a vertical face, so any excavation beyond shallow has to be shored or battered back. The hole ends up far wider than the pipe, which on a small beachside block is most of the yard.

How we work.

1
A licensed plumber picks up, at any hour

Ring at 2am and you reach someone who can actually drive to you, not a service taking a message for the morning. On a genuine emergency the most valuable thirty seconds happen at the meter, and we walk you through that while the van is already moving.

2
Exposure asked about before we quote

Which wall a unit sits on, how sheltered it is, and how close to the water you are. Near the beach those answers explain more failures than the age on the compliance plate does, and almost nobody asks them.

3
One figure, settled before we begin

You approve a number before a tool comes out, and that number is what you pay. No hourly meter, nothing added because it turned out to be a Sunday, and nothing on the invoice that was not discussed on the day.

4
Written up, because seepage is an insurance argument

On a slow coastal leak, what failed and where is exactly what an insurer will question, since most policies exclude gradual seepage. We photograph it and put it in writing.

Who operates this site

"Plumbers In Manly" is a marketing name used to advertise licensed plumbing services supplied by Dr Energy Pty Ltd (ABN 40 679 445 884), trading as Dr Energy Electrical & Plumbing, NSW Plumbing Licence 368473C. All plumbing work booked through this site is carried out under that licence.
